Description
Despite new diagnostic imaging technologies and serological verification procedures, biopsies play a significant role in medical diagnostics. For histopathological tissue assessment biopsy still is the ‘Golden standard’ and remains irreplaceable.
The biopsy punches with plunger system not only enable a precise and gentle biopsy but also a simple removal of the skin sample from the punch.

User Guide
Biopsy
While performing the biopsy, the skin should be stretched perpendicularly to the skin tension lines, if possible or necessary.
The biopsy punch is grabbed with thumb and index finger, placed on the skin surface and rotated clockwise in a downward direction while applying moderate pressure. To obtain a meaningful biopsy, it is important to penetrate deep enough into the adipose tissue.
Tissue Collection
By pressing the colored button at the end of the biopsy punch the collected tissue sample will be removed from the punch. The tissue sample can now be easily transferred into a suitable container.
Wound closure
Due to the stretched skin an oval wound is created, which can be closed easily. Wound closure can usually be omitted when using punches smaller than 4 mm in diameter. Wound covering is arranged by bandages or small hydrocolloid dressings.
If using larger punches wounds are closed by sutures or wound closure strips. Suturation of oval-shaped wounds is especially easy, leaving only barely visible scars.
