CitiFluor™ CFMR2 – for samples labelled with GFP, 10ml
E17979-10
Citifluor CFMR2 is a non-hardening antifading/anti-bleaching mounting medium for fluorescence microscopy with high refractive index. Citifluor CFMR2 is a glycerol-based solution and contains a unique antifadent to reduce photobleaching for specimens labeled with GFP.
Refractive index at 20°C: 1.52.
Product Details
Description
The CFM series is particularly useful for high magnification work and confocal laser scanning microscopy where immersion oils are used to minimize distortion of the image due to refraction of the viewing light.
Properties and storage of CFMR2 solution
They may be stored at room temperature. The cap of the bottles should always be replaced after use, to prevent evaporation of water. Samples stored under these conditions for 6 months have been found to exhibit little apparent deterioration.
Usage and Useful Tips
The refractive index of the solution is designed to match the glass of the objective lens and coverslip.
CFMR2 contains a unique antifadent that does not de-oxygenate solutions but nevertheless, affords protection to the GFP.
A few drops of the solution should be applied to the specimen followed by a cover slip. An immersion oil (which may be a CFM solution if its viscosity is appropriate) is applied on top of the coverslip in the usual way.
